MeditationBalance is the key to happiness. Balance helps us to remain centered, grounded, and at peace within ourselves. When we are balanced, stress doesn't affect us as easily, fewer things seem overwhelming, and we are able to relax more fully when we have down time. In my experience, regular Meditation is absolutely essential for anyone who'd like to find and maintain a balanced mind, body & spirit. Meditation is a simple tool that is easily learned. I have met many people in my life who express the need to be more focused, less stressed, or able to use their time more effectively. The answer to all of these, as well as countless other concerns can be aided or even completely solved through regular meditation. My desire to help others find balance has lead me to offer meditation classes. I learned my first basic meditation skills through the Aesclepion Institute in San Raphael, CA. These few, simple tools have helped me beyond measure. I couldn't imagine still living as I once did, without having the coping skills that Meditation has given me. Many people see Meditation as a useful tool that they would like to learn, but have no idea where to begin. They see Meditation as a mystical experience that they need to somehow "tap into" or they feel like they would be really bored sitting still with their eyes closed for any significant period of time. Well, Meditation can be a mystical experience at times, but it's real value is that it gives your body/mind connection a concious rest for a little while. We get a lot of unconcious rest while we sleep, but while we're awake our brains are almost constantly working, giving our body very little downtime to recuperate, leading to tense muscles, headaches and loss of sleep. As little as ten minutes of regular meditation a day will dramatically improve the health and well-being or the participant. Even one class can give you the basic methods to get started along this amazingly beneficial path.
